Do you love teaching, entertaining, and caring for children ages 3–8 in a nurturing space where their imaginations are celebrated? Do you love sharing the magic of storytelling with children? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Treasure Trunk Theatre (located in Brooklyn, NY) is seeking teaching artists to join our roster of talented, enthusiastic, and inspiring teachers for Fall 2026 into the spring semester. We are especially looking for teaching artists who are interested in working across a variety of our programs, including regularly scheduled classes, school holiday camps, weekend birthday parties, and special events.

Our greatest needs this fall are for teaching artists with weekday afternoon availability, particularly from approximately 2:15 pm–5:15/6:15 pm, as well as weekend availability.

We anticipate having opportunities for both consistent, full-semester weekly teaching assignments and substitute teaching work, in addition to weekend parties and events.

We are currently hiring both lead and assistant teaching artists. Select candidates with extensive experience will be considered immediately for our lead teacher training process. We promote from within, so those hired as assistants will also have the opportunity to apply for the lead teacher training process in the future.

Our Mission:
At Treasure Trunk Theatre, we create a nurturing space for children to develop their imagination, confidence, and creativity through the magic of storytelling. We encourage self-expression and celebrate individuality. We use the power of dramatic play to inspire each child to be their unique self, connect with others, and see the world in an empathic way.

Those who will best succeed in this role must:

● Have experience working collaboratively as part of a team, as well as experience working with children in a childcare, babysitting, family, classroom, camp, and/or arts setting.
● Enjoy caring for, teaching, and entertaining children ages 3–8, with the majority of our programming serving children ages 3–6.
● Be engaging, energetic, and adaptable, with the ability to respond quickly and creatively to the needs of children and different teaching environments.
● Maintain the highest level of safety and supervision throughout all programming.
● Be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings. Some programs may include outdoor time at local parks and playgrounds, weather permitting.
● Have experience assisting young children with bathroom visits.
● Display confidence, warmth, and a willingness to be playful.
● Love having fun and bringing your own personality, creativity, and teaching style to the experience!

  • Communicate in a timely, detail-oriented way, maintaining their own schedule of shifts and be conscientious of all student, location, and shift details assigned to them

PLEASE NOTE: Treasure Trunk Theatre develops and provides all curriculum. No lesson planning is required on the part of our teaching artists.
