The electrics department is responsible for the stage sound and lighting and the realisation of technical services for all performances and events within agreed schedules and budgets. They also take responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the building in liaison with the Stage Department, Technical and Building Manager and external contractors. IN DOING SO, YOU WILL: Comply with Health & Safety regulations. Comply with all licensing and building regulations. Comply with all company policies and codes of practice. Minimise the Trust's environmental impact and promote sustainability.

Job Description

Responsibilities General Assist and deputise for the Head of Electrics, performing all duties in their absence Ensure safe working practices at all times Operate lighting and sound for performances as required Provide duty electrician cover during day and performance hours (rostered with HOD) Duty first aider Support additional Trust activities, including Creative New Writing programmes and Technical Skills Workshops Production Liaise with incoming design, production, technical staff, and suppliers to meet technical requirements In HOD's absence, coordinate get-ins and get-outs, including staffing and budget approvals Ensure smooth running of performances with staff and visiting companies Arrange additional technical support staff as needed Building & Maintenance Ensure Fire Risk Assessment and licensing compliance Assist HOD with maintenance of electrical installations and equipment, including inspections and certifications Support plumbing and building maintenance, including regular inspections and actioning works Liaise with and supervise external contractors safely Maintain records, documentation, and stock for building maintenance Management & Administration Assist HOD with expenditure approvals and paperwork Ensure health & safety requirements are met and records maintained Identify and implement staff training needs Supervise and support Electrics staff in HOD's absence

Job Requirements

Person Specification Essential Professional theatre experience in lighting, sound, and building electrics Computer literate, including competency in Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and experience in carrying out risk assessments Good written and oral communication skills, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work under own initiative Desirable Electrical qualification Experience in ETC lighting desk programming Experience with maintenance, programming, and operation of automated fixtures Experience with design software and computer networking Experience of working at height and access equipment training Experience of small plumbing First aid training
