ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

The Arthur Miller Foundation (AMF) is an independent, grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, honoring the legacy of Arthur Miller and his New York City public school education through increasing equitable access to quality theater education for public school students by certifying and supporting teachers to build sustainable in-school theater programs. In-school theater instruction provided by a full-time, certified theater teacher, and included as an integral part of a comprehensive K-12 public school education, ensures access to all students regardless of economic status. We accomplish our mission through our AMF Theater Education Programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The AMF CT Program Manager plays a key role in advancing the Arthur Miller Foundation’s mission to increase equitable access to quality theater education in public schools. The AMF CT Program Manager serves as the main point of contact for CT Fellows (public school theater teachers), AMF Mentors, and Cultural Partners. The Program Manager is an integral part of the AMF team, managing all aspects of the AMF CT Fellows Program, including budget, schedule, events, resource distribution, invoicing, and communication. This role is both administrative and strategic, balancing day-to-day program coordination with broader planning and relationship management, always in collaboration with AMF leadership. Strong organizational, communication, and partnership-building skills are required.

AMF CT FELLOWS PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The AMF Connecticut Fellows Program, piloted in 2022, extended its flagship New York City initiative to Bridgeport Public Schools, Norwalk Public Schools, and now New Haven Public Schools, to support full-time, certified theater teachers in underserved CT public school districts. AMF Fellows benefit from (1) structured mentorship with seasoned theater educators, (2) cultural partner residencies, (3) tangible resources including classroom toolkits and student theater tickets, and (4) ongoing professional development workshops and opportunities. The AMF CT Fellows Program impacts approximately 5,000 students, providing theater teachers with tailored support to build quality, sustainable in-school theater programs.
