Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is now accepting video submissions for REDRUM - The Unauthorized Musical Parody of The Shining.
SEEKING
Seeking strong Non-Union musical theatre performers (18+) who are local to Central Florida / Orlando, with punchy comedic timing and an understanding of pitch-black humor. Performers of all ethnic backgrounds, body types, and gender identities are strongly encouraged to submit.
ABOUT
Redrum is a dark comic musical parody inspired by The Shining. It blends original songs, tropes, and absurdity into a fast-paced theatrical experience.

DANNY, (masculine or feminine presenting), a telepathic five-year-old: A3 - E5 (Head voice to G5)
TONY, Danny’s imaginary friend: Ab2 - B4 (Falsetto to C5)
The following roles will be played by a strong ensemble, with actors potentially doubling up on roles:
DICK HALLORAN, a telepathic chef: A2 - F#4
STUART ULLMAN, a manager at the Overlook Hotel: Ab2 - F#4
BILL WATSON, assistant to the hotel manager: C3 - Ab4
THE GRADY SISTERS, two dead girls in matching blue dresses:

THE VOICE OF THE OVERLOOK, the Overlook Hotel’s Voice, omniscient and ominous: Bb2 – F4
LLOYD, a bartender: D3 – G4
DELBERT GRADY, a homicidal British caretaker: A2 - G#4
DOCTOR, summoned to the Torrance residence for a house visit
BEAR, a man in a bear suit, and potentially on roller skates (this role may be wearing little clothing)
THE WOMAN IN THE TUB, self-explanatory (this role may be wearing little clothing)

SUBMIT
Please prepare a short comedic musical theatre selection, and a short satirical monologue. (Around 1 minute each).
