PUDDIN: Meek’s grandma. Hawkeyed, heedful; your local Jessica Fletcher. 60s, Black.

CLAY: Smooch’s brother. Ambitious, conservative. 40s, Black.

VIRGIE: Clay’s wife. Ambitious, stifled, haunted. 40s, white.

THE CHOIR: A shapeshifting clutch of at least 3 women. Strong singers (A/M/S), white presenting, any age.

MAY: Eddie's half-sister and on-and-off lover. 30s. Fierce, wounded, vacillates between vicious and desperate.

EDDIE: A rodeo stunt man/cowboy; half-brother and lover of May. 30s. Volatile, seductive, selfmythologizing, prone to sudden violence.

MARTIN: A local, decent guy who's taken May on a date but gets pulled into the family's psychodrama.

30s-40s. Bewildered, earnest, a little dim.
THE OLD MAN: Father to both Eddie and May by different mothers. 60s-70s. A memory figure. He narrates and interjects throughout the story.

SEEKING:

LISA: Daughter to Georgina. A teenager struggling to decide what she wants her future to be. Embarrassed by her mother’s antics but becomes a part of them anyway. Contrarian, bored, savvy.

GEORGINA: Mother to Lisa. A once successful middle-aged woman trying to come up with a quick way to become rich without revealing the full breadth of her desperation to her daughter. Optimistic, prideful, quick-witted.

PATTY: An overworked, underpaid coffee barista who struggles to endure an endless stream of demanding customers while trying to network. Curious, exhausted, eager.

CUSTOMERS: Doubling as all other characters, including every customer who enters. Multiple genders and ages. Must be transformative.
