Seeking an experienced jazz clarinetist or saxophonist for a featured day-player role in an independent short film shooting in NYC.
Uncle David is warm, quirky, playful, and completely at home within Sammi's colorful, close-knit extended family. During a backyard family gathering, he and Sammi's father strike up a spirited jazz duet.
We are specifically seeking a musician first and foremost. Professional acting experience is not required, but you must be comfortable performing naturally on camera and taking direction. Strong jazz clarinet/saxophonist skills and confidence playing with another musician are essential.
The role has no scripted dialogue (some improv possible) and relies on natural presence, personality, and ease within the family ensemble. We're looking for someone who can bring both genuine musicianship and a warm, slightly eccentric energy to the screen.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Please include a short video or performance clip demonstrating your jazz clarinet playing with your submission. Existing performance footage is absolutely fine, no need to record anything specifically for us at this stage.
Please also include a recent photo/headshot and a brief note about your musical background and performance experience. Acting/on-camera experience welcome but not required.
