Seeking Dancers, Choreographers, and Songwriters for Choreography Showcase

Shatter The Glass Productions is now seeking dancers, choreographers and songwriters for a choreography showcase in September.

Emergence: An Artist Showcase will be presented September 26-28th at New York Live Arts. This choreography project is designed to give emerging artists across multiple artistic disciplines the opportunity to collaborate, and have their work showcased on the New York Stage. The showcase will feature music from Independent Songwriters and Composers from across the country. Choreographers will then create original pieces with these songs, to be staged at New York Live Arts in Chelsea. This showcase will prioritize choreographers, dancers and songwriters who are historically underrepresented in the industry.

Choreographer Hiring Information:

We are seeking submissions for all styles except for tap. Choreographers must be in attendance at callbacks on August 23rd in the evening, and must be available for 10 hours of rehersal between Sept 8th and Sept 25th. Choreographers will also need to be in attendance from 10am to 5pm on Sept 26th for tech and staging rehearsals. Choreographers will choose a song submitted by an independent artist to choreograph to. You will be expected to create an entirely original piece of choreography with only 10 hours of rehearsal. A small stipend, as well as professional photos and videos will be made available to those selected. Choreographers may also submit as dancers, and are able to perform in their number or other choreographers numbers if they'd like.

Dancer Hiring Information:

Dancers are encouraged to submit for as many styles as they feel comfortable performing. This showcase will not include tap. Selected dancers will need to attend callbacks on August 23rd in the evening, as well as have flexility for rehearsals in the month of September. Dancers must be available all day on September 26th and 27th for tech and performances, as well as in the evening of September 28th for the closing performance. Dancers will recieve professional photos and videos of the performance.

Songwriter Hiring Information:

We are seeking submissions of music from independent songwriters and composers. All genres of music are accepted. All work must be original and your own. If other artists are credited on the peice, please make sure you have their permission to submit the song. All submitted music will be given to the choreographers, who will choose a song to work with. If chosen, your song will be used to create an original dance number presented to New York Audiences. Your music will be features in a playlist given to audiences who attend the show, credited in any footage posted from the showcase, and professional footage of the number will be available to you.
