CASTING CALL (NON-AEA) “SALT AND PEPPER” for 15-Minute Musical Making It Happen Festival

LOGLINE:
Las Vegas, 1959. Trumpet player Luis and showman Ollie are "Salt & Pepper," a mambo duo and lifelong musical partners about to hit the road for their biggest tour yet. But their final night at the Flamingo Lounge is about to change everything.

THE PROGRAM:
This piece is being produced for Making It Happen: Festival of 15 Minute Musicals, a musical theatre competition. We are guaranteed one performance, with a shot at a second on September 9 if we win Audience Favorite.

PRINCIPAL ROLES (vocal ranges are flexible)
- LUIS - (20s) Trumpet player in Salt & Pepper mambo duo, a loyal follower terrified of being abandoned. Sweet, anxious, eager to please, constantly defers to Ollie's lead. (Tenor)
- OLLIE - (20s) Charismatic lead singer and natural showman of Salt & Pepper. Confident, impulsive, and romantic. (Baritone)
- ANA - (20s) A bold, strategic flirt with a dazzling exterior and a calculating core. Uses charm as a weapon. She's after the spotlight and knows how to steal it. Doubles as Wedding Chapel Clerk. (Soprano)
- CARMEN - (20s) Seductive, street-wise, and sharp. A survivor of love and Vegas games. Knows how to manipulate the room and men to get what she wants. (Mezzo-Alto)

COMPENSATION
