Auditions will be on 1st come, 1st served basis beginning on the morning of the audition. Check in after 8:30am with reception. Taped auditions will not be accepted.

SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in HOW I BECAME A PIRATE (See breakdown).

There will be no understudies.


PREPARATION

Please prepare a 2-4 minute monologue from a comedic fairy tale or children’s play and 16-bars from a young adult musical. There will be an accompanist. Please bring headshot and resume stapled together.

HOW I BECAME A PIRATE

All roles are open to all ethnicities. All must sing and move well. Some roles may be doubled with ensemble characters.


SEEKING:

JEREMY JACOB –18+ to play 10 yr old boy.

BRAID BEARD - The Pirate Captain. Male 20s-30s. Man of girth with a “braided beard” on his chin.

SHARKTOOTH THE PIRATE – Male 20s -30s. Foreboding with a scowling grin and a patch over one eye; yet a “sensitive guy”.

SWILL THE PIRATE – Any gender 20s-30s, slight build, intellectual, always shoulders the blame.

PIRATE PIERRE – Any gender 20s-30s, French accent, ship’s cook who enjoys fine French cuisine.

MAX THE PIRATE – Any gender 20s – 30s, wears a “stuffed” parrot on his shoulder; but he thinks it’s real.

PIRATE SEYMOUR BRAUNCHWAGGER – Any gender 20s -30s. A typical Pirate First Mate.

PIRATE SCURVE DOG – Any gender, 20s -30s. A typical Pirate Second Mate with a tendency to “bark”
