Casting ABBESS role for site-specific, immersive production of "The Comedy of Errors," in Battery Park. Looking for a female-identifying actress in the age-range of 45 - 85, with an excellent command of verse, flexibility, and a willingness to work outside and perform in an ensemble.
'The Comedy of Errors' is a hilarious and heartfelt tale of a family that has lost each other in a brutally commercial world. Chaos abounds when two sets of twins run amok in the Financial District of 1980's Manhattan. The play will be presented for free during sunset and accompanied by a 4-piece jazz band. "The Comedy of Errors" is presented with funding by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Manhattan Arts Grant.

Emilia is a righteous woman who has lost everything. Her husband and one of her sons were taken in a shipwreck, and her other son was stolen by pirates. Since then, she has devoted herself to a life of service as the Abbess of a priory in Ephesus. She is strong-willed and strong-minded and has not been crushed by the natural disasters that destroyed her family.
