PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Rand Productions is pleased to announce casting for the role of “Ralphie” in the hit Broadway musical "A Christmas Story," performing this Christmas at MGM’s Borgata, in Atlantic City, NJ.
*** Must be between the age of 10 to 14 and under 4’11”. This casting notice is ONLY for the role of Ralphie. No female children OR ADULTS are being cast at this time. PLEASE DO NOT RESUBMIT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED.

Roles in this project

Ralphie (LEAD ROLE)

Age 10-14 (to play 9 to 11), boy. Must be under 4’11” tall. Cute and winsome. Bright, but not precocious. A regular kid you wouldn’t mind having as a next-door neighbor. He’s a bit mischievous and rascally but with a twinkle in his eye. Experienced on stage with a great strong singing voice. High belter and voice must be unchanged. Vocal range is low F# to high D. Tap dancing is a plus but not mandatory.

Dates & Locations

Callbacks in NYC - August 11^th (@Ripley Grier 520 W. 8th Ave).

Rehearsals November 5^th - December 4^th, 2026 on-site at the MGM’s Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.

Runs December 5^th – 28^th, 2026 (14 show days, 18 performances).

Dark days: At least 2 (likely 3) during rehearsals and 10 during show’s run.

Return travel: December 29^th, 2026

Compensation & Contract

This is a non-union contract.

Pay Rates
Lead role - Performance Pay = $160 per performance (18 performances over 3 ½ weeks)
Rehearsal Pay = $1,400 flat rate for all rehearsals.

Round trip travel for 2 (talent and 1 guardian), first-class accommodations at the Borgata, and 3 FREE meals per day included (talent and 1 guardian). General resort privileges (e.g., resort pool, fitness center, discounts, etc.). Biweekly pay schedule.

Digital submissions now being accepted for the role of “Ralphie” ONLY. Callbacks are by invitation only on August 11^th at Ripley-Grier Studios, NYC. (Those selected will be notified by email with more details). You must be able to attend the in-person callbacks. Please do not resubmit if you have already submitted.

For consideration, submit a headshot, resume, slate (with name, age, height, where you are based), availability from November 4^th thru December 29th,2026, and an updated reel (or video of you singing). Additionally, we strongly encourage submitting 32+ bars of “Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun” from the show. This does not need to be professionally recorded. Please submit true vocals only, not digitally enhanced in any way

Note: A Parent or Guardian will be provided with full travel (from NYC), accommodations (with minor artist), and 3 free meals a day. Parent or Guardian will "deliver" the minor to the stage door and retrieve them from the stage door per schedule. Parent/Guardian and minor will always have cell phone communication with each other or via Child Wrangler. This production is in compliance with all State Child Entertainment Laws; however, the minor is required to be enrolled in an accredited homeschool program or have a preapproved long-distance / online curriculum (approved by their school and set up in advance). The Producer will provide a daily private school/study space (during weekdays when rehearsals and/or performances are taking place). During these times, a professional tutor will be present (to assist the minors with their work/studies and to oversee testing when applicable). There will not be a school space on non-work days, holidays or weekends unless noted otherwise.
